I first met Gabe when he
was a bidder on the all weather track at Placer High and it was
always inspiring to see him out there working with his crews to
get things right. If you didn't notice, the track never floods.
Gabe was savvy enough to cut large drains into the adjoining
rivulet on the north end of the stadium. I got to know him
better after joining Lions. He was more than impressed when I
brought the original twelve young ladies that made up the first
LEO club at Placer to a noon meeting. "Wow," he said, "all these
girls want to be members!?" |
