Al will be remembered as a true gentleman and could always catch
the gal’s eyes. His sense of humor was great as was his
generosity in giving to our Lion’s club in golf sponsors and
donating bread and desserts for the Lion’s food events. We’ll
miss ya Big Al —

Al always said, "Never let a Sicilian keep your books." I
guess he was in the bar business with a Sicilian and finally
went broke, or, " I knew Willy (Brown) when he was a Pimp".

Al was the most dedicated LION that I have met and a true friend
to all. Always ready to listen and always ready with a joke.

When I served as prez, I loved to watch Al pace back and forth
in front of the Tahoe Club door when I arrived shortly before
eleven. "Got the keys?" he would always ask. To the bar, not the
door. Al truly enjoyed his Tanqueray.

I have many good memories of Al. He had a great sense of humor
and was a wonderful story teller. We were Tanqueray buddies.
We took turns buying and I never had one unless he was there.
He said that Wednesday was his favorite day of the week, because
he got two martinis, one at noon and one in the evening. He
loved Granada and told me that he would live there, "if I had a
different wife." He told me lots of stories about his bakery in
So. SF and his landlord who called him Baldy. His landlord told
him "Baldy never put your money in anything you can't pee on."
(in other words real estate). He was one of the nicest most
unassuming men I have ever known and I will miss him. Lion Pat

The picture attached is one, as you can see of Al & Ralph. A
good one I thought. Perhaps it could be included somehow in Al's
memorial page. My remembrance of Al includes our shared status
as preacher's sons. He, I believe was the son of a Methodist
preacher and I was the son of a Lutheran preacher. He and I
discussed this matter on several occasions. Al was a great
friend and we sat together often at the Lion's Club meetings. I
miss him a lot.
